Bright Future Foundation Samburu is a community-based organisation championing girls, women and youth across Samburu County since 2015. We work where the tarmac ends — in classrooms under acacia shade, on market days, and around the kitchen fires where the real decisions are made.

Empower the indigenous youth and women of Samburu County by breaking down barriers to education and health through targeted programs that foster self-reliance, promote gender equality, and ensure sustainable access to essential resources and mentorship.
Our founder
Sabina Lelemoyog
Sabina founded BFFS after seeing too many bright girls drop out of school because their periods made it impossible to stay. Ten years later, she leads a team of staff, volunteers and partners who refuse to accept that outcome.
“We started BFFS because no girl in Samburu should ever choose between her dignity and her schoolbooks. Every woman in this team has lived that choice. We will not accept it for the next generation.”
Our journey
A decade of community-led work.
2015
Sabina Lelemoyog founds the initial community outreach that becomes BFFS.
2017
BFFS is formally registered as a CBO in Samburu County (SBU/C/CBO/41373/2017). The Samburu Youth Manifesto is published.
2018
First pad bank opens. Table banking groups begin.
2020
9 pad banks established across 9 wards. Holiday mentorship workshops become annual.
2023
Bright Future Cup launches — football, advocacy and MHM under one tent.
2026
Brightening the Shameful Days launches with 10 schools, 500 girls and a 12-month MEL plan.

Nothing about Samburu without Samburu. Elders, mothers and young women co-design everything we do.

We publish our numbers monthly — the good and the in-progress — on a live dashboard.

We reject the 'victim' framing. Our programmes centre joy, play and leadership.
